District and School Improvement
School Improvement encompasses a system of accountability for districts and schools. Student performance is assessed as a measure to
determine whether state educational standards are being achieved. In the event that a district or school performance does not meet state standards,
measures are developed and used to promote improvement. Additionally, within the tenets of school improvement, the State Board of Education has
authority to impose sanctions and rewards as related to school performance.

The FDOE provides LEAs with resources to support their student achievement goals. Funds are awarded through this program to LEAs to support extra
services for low-performing Title I schools.
